小説家・司馬遼太郎が生まれた日（1923年）。生涯に多くの歴史小説を残し、中でも「坂の上の雲」はNHKでドラマ化され、久石譲がメインテーマ「Stand Alone」をはじめ劇中曲を担当したり、「燃えよ剣」が舞台化された際には作曲家・宮川彬良が音楽を担当している。
